Question, How fast does a toenail grow? 10.12.2011

About 7~8 months ago I dropped a knife on my big toe. It slid off the kitchen counter and landed, handle first luckily, on my big toe. It struck it's target just behind my toenail, hitting me square in the Eponychium!

Obviously  it hurt like a mother...

During the month that followed I could see the dark patch that formed at the base of the nail slowly move outward to form a neat black patch underneath the nail.

Almost three quarters of a year has passed and this blotch is still on my toe! This morning I found myself wondering, how fast does a toe nail actually grow?! From what I've observed so far at least frigging slow!

Just found out it's roughly 0.1mm per day. Hmm, maybe I should measure the growth for a week or so, see if it's true :D

find a hobby. one that doesn't involve watching your feet.

You need to trim your toenails. JS. lol xD

What's even freakier is that your toenails even appear to keep growing after you die. This is a source of al lot of the zombie/vampire stories of old. In reality this is caused by a dehydration and discoloring of the skin making it look like your toenails are longer.

Not to imply you're a zombie or anything...

Who even said that this was MY toenail people?!?

(ok it is /swt) hahahah

FYI I've let it grow until now just because it fascinated me in some weird way because of the dried patch of blood under my nail :( Normally my nails are totally cut! :/
